Ameris Capital, a private equity fund, joined the real estate project "Mall Barrio Independencia," a shopping mall project that includes the cultural restoration of one of the most important places in northern Santiago. The project’s architecture will respect the existing building of the old Ebner brewery, which dates back to 1879, and declared a Historic Monument in 1984. The abandoned building will become a large urban plaza with services, shops, offices and a cultural center with a museum. Its construction covers approximately 220,000 m2 that will include more than 2,500 parking lots, 200 shops, 12 restaurants, movie theaters, two office towers and a supermarket.

Ameris joining in ownership of the Mall was agreed upon at the beginning of 2017 and the project will be inaugurated at the end of 2018.

The inauguration of the real estate project “Mall Barrio Independencia” is scheduled for the second half of 2018, covering an area of about 220 thousand square meters and restoring the existing building of the former Ebner brewery, declared a Historical Monument.
