El Mercurio Legal highlights the growth and consolidation process of our Firm

2021 has been a busy year at Barros Silva Varela y Vigil. Eight new associates joined the Firm in the last four months and the Firm continues to project its growth in the short and medium term.

These new additions are part of the Firm's consolidation and growth process and come to reinforce the areas of Mining and Natural Resources, Public Law, Litigation and Arbitration, Corporate Law, Compliance and Labour Law.

"This year has been very challenging and one of high growth and specialisation for the firm in each of its practice areas, so we have been looking for the best team to complement and enrich our legal services. In addition, we see a growing challenge in the area of Public Law, so since 2020 we have bet on strengthening the environmental and administrative law practices, where we have incorporated Claudia Ferreiro", said Fernando Barros Vial, founding partner of the firm.

This year, Barros Silva Varela y Vigil incorporated a new partner to the Firm. She is Claudia Ferreiro, a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in the public sector as legal advisor to companies in matters of Public Law, Regulatory, Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources. Thus, the Firm is formed by 7 partners: Fernando Barros V., José Joaquín Silva I., Francisco Varela E., Jorge Vigil L., Roberto Lewin V., Felipe Riesco E. and Claudia Ferreiro V.

With this, half of Barros Silva Varela & Vigil's lawyers are women, maintaining its gender parity vocation.

Claudia Ferreiro Vásquez, as partner, and associates Rafael Reyes Errázuriz, Esteban Carmona Quintana, María José Marchant Ruiz-Tagle, Vicente Grubsic Lavín, Camilo Martínez Sepúlveda, Camila Correa Ortúzar, Felipe Lama Cartagena and Valentina Tuane Nazar.
