José Manuel Bustamante, partner of BSVV, along with several of his brothers, participated in the presentation of the José Luis Bustamante y Rivera 2023 Ambassador award, awarded by the Chilean-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Embassy of Peru to people and companies that have stood out for their contribution to strengthening and expanding the levels of friendship and trust between Chileans and Peruvians.

This distinction was inspired by the former Ambassador of Peru in Chile and president of said Chamber, Mr. José Luis Bustamante y Rivera. In the ceremony, which had the notable participation of the Ambassador of Peru, Mrs. Silvia Alfaro, and the President of the Chilean-Peruvian Chamber, Mr. Jaime de Orbegoso, our partner José Manuel made a brief profile of Mr. José Luis Bustamante, who was his father, highlighting his tireless work for the integration between Peru and Chile, and his recognized personal qualities that earned him great affection and recognition in the country.

José Manuel has a vast experience and recognition in the Chilean legal market. He has acted as counsel for multiple companies in antitrust matters, litigation and arbitration in the most diverse markets, including the dairy industry, salmon, energy, mining, construction and infrastructure, telecommunications, retail, consumer, medical supplies, supermarkets, cement and steel, among others. He has also represented public companies and industry bodies in litigation matters. His activity includes international arbitration, where he has participated in proceedings subject to ICC rules.

In addition to his activity in investigations before the National Economic Prosecutor's Office, proceedings before the Antitrust Court and control of concentration operations, Bustamante has a recognized leadership in antitrust compliance matters, having been a pioneer in the development of prevention programs for companies in Chile 20 years ago.
